Writing and Testing Emergency Plans:

Course Overview: This expert led, two-day course is aimed at assisting organisations to both develop and test emergency plans. The course covers the principles of development of emergency plans (with signposting to some resources for our target sectors), then focuses on development of desktop exercises to allow organisations to validate and evaluate those emergency plans.

Whilst the course is universally applicable to any sector, the course delivery date has been chosen to allow organisations to review their emergency plans post the key adventure travel/expedition/school trip/ field work season, with the benefit of lessons learned and to allow time to implement any replacement or amended emergency plans in what is traditionally a quieter time of year.

The course is, in line with our other courses, delivered with an emphasis on those sending staff or teams overseas, adventure travel, education, higher education, expedition, exploration and fieldwork sectors.

Attendees do not need to have attended previous training but would benefit from some operational experience and would also benefit from having attended our Royal Geographical Society certified Of Site Safety Management Course.  The OSSM course provides a valuable context for our target sectors and considers multiple case studies from the target sectors.
